About
Aquinas Court
Aquinas Court is a vibrant but intimate village community (only 30 units) located in the heart of the lower Blue Mountains. Recently refurbished this village has limited immediate opportunities for interested future residents. There are regular open days and special events at the village and these are advertised in both the Seniors Newspaper and the Blue Mountains Gazette. For further information please contact 1800 551 834.
Aquinas Court was established by Father Michael McGloin, former Parish Priest of St Thomas Aquinas Parish in Springwood. It is built on the site of the original primary school and the historic St Thomas Aquinas Church. In 1986, Fr McGloin relocated the parish church site to St Columba's in Hawkesbury Road, Winmalee where a new school and church were built. At this time, construction began on the retirement village and Aquinas Court was opened in 1991.
The historic church is preserved on the village site and provides both a chapel and community room for residents. The new St Thomas Parish Church opened in February 1996.
Aquinas Court is situated on the corner of Macquarie Road and Hawkesbury Road in Springwood, next door to the Springwood Bowling Club. Entry to the complex is on Macquarie Road. Aquinas Court is short walking distance to Springwood railway station and there is a bus stop directly in front of the units on Macquarie Road.
